A group of 12 enthusiastic year 7 and 8 pupils had the exciting opportunity to visit the Cardiff University School of Mathematics for a special STEM trip. Our school was one of only five selected to take part in this inspiring event.
Throughout the day, pupils engaged in a variety of hands-on workshops. They built molecules using different structures, tested their problem-solving skills in a thrilling maths escape room, where it was a close competition between the boys and girls (girls took the win!) and tackled a range of fun and challenging maths puzzles.
The highlight of the day was the science fayre, where pupils explored what Cardiff University has to offer. They visited stalls from the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, the School of Architecture and the School of Engineering, gaining a real insight into the exciting world of university-level STEM.
Our pupils represented the school brilliantly, collaborating with students from other schools and showing great curiosity and enthusiasm. They returned full of inspiration, having had a valuable experience that opened their eyes to future possibilities in STEM.
