Bute Energy Trip
On Tuesday a group of year 9 pupils attended a trip to Bute Energy's office to hear some talks about the renewable energy sector and the many careers that are available in it. We learnt about how planning for wind turbines occurs, including the geographical and ecological considerations, and how turbine blades up to 80m long are transported all in one piece!
The pupils behaved incredibly respectfully and answered all questions with enthusiasm and consideration. They showed the company how knowledgeable they were, and this was commented on by the session provider. The pupils particularly enjoyed the hot chocolate and pizza buffet, sitting on swivel chairs and building their own working wind turbine.
