Cardiff University SHARE With Schools team visit Fitzalan history department
The Fitzalan history department were delighted to once again welcome the SHARE With Schools team to run some sessions with some of our Year 7 classes.
The sessions were about archaeological science and they involved different groups of pupils using scientific evidence to identify a real person, found in the archaeological record. These included the Amesbury Archer and a sailor from the Mary Rose. Our pupils particularly enjoyed looking at artefacts that helped them with their investigation, animal bones, pottery sherds and a Roman wax writing tablet.
The prospect of university is some way off for the Year 7s but they enjoyed being able to meet students and ask questions about university life.
Thank you as always to the wonderful SHARE With Schools team.
