Climate Action Workshop

On Monday 30th June 2025 a group of Year 10 geography pupils attended a Climate Action workshop delivered by Sadie Barnes as part of a PhD research project (part-funded by the Welsh Government and UWE).  The pupils had the opportunity to be curious and creative when learning about the Welsh Climate Adaptation Strategy and how government strategies can impact people and communities.

The students worked in small groups to create idea boards on local climate change adaptation.  With enthusiasm, they shared knowledge on their local awareness; discussed their feelings surrounding the impacts of climate change and took responsibility into their own hands by coming up with actionable steps that people can implement within the own lives to mitigate the impacts of climate change.

The workshop allowed pupils to participate in climate decision-making, working towards their rights as young people to a healthy environment.
