Year 7 Archaeological Excavations in Trelai Park

On Thursday 20th June, the history department took a group of Year 7 pupils to visit the archaeological excavations taking place in Trelai Park.

Cardiff University are excavating a Bronze Age farmstead.  The pupils had a tour of the site and watched the archaeologists doing their work.  Following this they all had a go at digging, sieving the spoil, washing finds and they also had a look at some artefacts and finds.

It was an amazing opportunity for some of our pupils to visit this very significant archaeological excavation and they were fascinated.  They didn’t want to stop digging!
