On the 23^rd March 2023, Mrs Bentley and Miss Reader took a group of Year 10, 11 and Year 12 students to Cardiff University for a bespoke lecture and workshop series on Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes - discussing their poetry collections and lives - and a Film workshop based on environmental issues.  

Our pupils behaved exceptionally well, listening to the wealth of insight from the lecturers and PHD students. They engaged with a series of creative, analytical workshops, conveying their own thoughts and ideas with incredible insight and maturity, dealing with the complex issues that both the literature and film raise with readers and audiences.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and inspired & enthused our pupils for higher education with the wealth of opportunities available in the film industry, within Cardiff and Wales.
