Summer Fayre 2019

Fitzalan High School PTA was delighted to present the annual Summer Fayre and Cultural Celebration on the afternoon of Wednesday 10th July 2019, which was well received by pupils, parents, visitors and staff alike!

Mr. O’Brian compered the afternoon and, luckily, the sunny weather helped pupils to sing, dance, listen to poems and presentations, play games, guess the number of sweets in the jar, get faces painted, purchase plants, books, gifts, get henna tattoos, explore  an ambulance, see mounted police and watch Simon Sparkles the magician! Definitely the best turn out ever with so many more parents and younger siblings.

The steel pans, choir and on-stage performances were superb and gave a real summer vibe. A huge well done and thanks to the music and CAT teams, and to all the pupils for their performances. Many parents commented on how the music and cultural food 'made' the atmosphere of the summer fayre and we agree!  Thanks to Mr. N Jones, Mr. D Jones, Mr. Esseen, Miss Barrowdale for the sponge the teacher event, Ms Timbrell for the paintings, tech department for their fabulous signage (and glitter!) Ms Oakley for organising bric a brac, Mrs Brown for manning the refreshments stall and Mrs Sims for the sweet activity.  The MFL department had a great time with their stall, as did 'Bowl Out Mr. Ahlom', pizza express, cultural food, the Ultimate Slime, book stall and many more; thank-you so much.

First Prize for the photography competition was Dylan Jones in Year 7 - he was as thrilled with his mini Ipad as were we with his winning design.  Raffle prizes were signed rugby boots, rugby team print, amazon vouchers, golf day, spa day, lunch vouchers, chocolates, cosmetics, and many more.

Huge thanks must go to Rhianne Massin who has kept the PTA focused and on track in the planning; she also managed to obtain some great raffle prizes, organise the quad and staff.  Diolch also to the admin, ICT, facilities operatives and estates teams who supported throughout, along with the parent members of the PTA.  The summer fayre raised funds, which is going towards purchasing some footballs and games for pupils at lunchtime. Thanks to everyone for your support - looking forward to 2020 already!
