Chepstow Castle and Raglan Castle - Year 7

On Thursday 21st October, the History Department took a group of Year 7 pupils to visit Chepstow Castle and Raglan Castle.

This was our first big trip since before the pandemic and it was fantastic to see pupils having fun exploring the archaeology and history of the castles.  We toured each of the castles, investigating the defence features, methods of attack, how they changed and developed over time and also imagining what it would have been like to live there.  We also heard stories of people who lived in the castles and exciting events during their history.  It was a sunny day and we even managed to eat our lunch on the old bowling lawn at Raglan Castle.

It was an enjoyable day and judging by the amount of questions, a trip that our pupils found very interesting.
