Fitzalan Ski Trip USA

During February half term the PE Department ran a skiing trip to the USA. We took 40 pupils from Years 9, 10 & 11 to New Hampshire and skied across 2 resorts; Waterville Valley and Cannon Mountain.

We had a range of skiing abilities on the trip, the pupils made exceptional progress and were all competently skiing by the end of the 5 days. The ski instructors at both resorts all commented on how fantastic our pupils were in terms of behaviour, perseverance and manners.

We then travelled to NYC, stopping off for some retail therapy on the way. When we arrived in NYC, we headed straight to Times Square where the pupils experienced dining in the Hard Rock Café. The following day we took the pupils on a boat tour around the NYC harbour where they were able to view the Statue of Liberty, Staten Island and a range of other attractions. The pupils then went on a tour of the Rockefeller Centre and were able to go to the ‘Top of the Rock’. The views of Central Park, The Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty were phenomenal.

The trip was an amazing opportunity for our pupils which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. All pupils were an absolute credit to the school throughout the trip. Our tour guide, hotel staff, ski instructors and even Customs officials all commented on what a delightful group of pupils we had.

Mrs Greenaway, Mr Jones and Mr Rea are all incredibly proud of the pupils and are looking forward to organising the next trip!
