CCF Newletter

The Combined Cadet Force section have enjoyed another busy term. We hosted a visit by the First Minister of Wales Mr Mark Drakeford AM along with the new Commanding Officer of the Royal Navy CCF Commander Jonathan Hodgkins RN. During the visit the cadets displayed skills in drill, rope work and leadership.

During October half term, we had one group of cadets embark on the sailing vessel Pegasus to spend the week sailing around coast. This was a fantastic experience for some of our younger cadets who even got enjoy Halloween activities at sea.

Another group joined HMS Raleigh in Plymouth to spend the week on a joint exercise with the Sea Cadets. During the week, the cadets had experienced life in the Royal Navy. They took part in firefighting training, damage repair simulator, a tour of the dockyard and visit to the seamanship school.

Cadets also took part in the school Remembrance Day ceremony in November and lay a wreath as part of a poignant service dedicated to those who have served our country.
